Hello again Jeff. I met you at the ODFW Clinic and spoke with you just before you had to leave. I’m the old man who asked you for a Sunday trip for me and my grandson and you very graciously gave me a special rate for both of us. Hope that will jar your memory. Anyways….. I have been thinking of learning some new water and need some expertise to show me. Since I fished with you last I have had a lot more time behind the oars, I have been running the Wilson, Trask, Kalama, Lewis, as well as the sandy a few times. I was wondering if you had any availability in the up coming winter to show me a couple drifts and of coarse puttin a hook in a couple fish . I was mainly interested in the Upper Wilson and Nestucca, let me know and hopefully we can hook up!

I river bank fished steelhead for many years, then quit for several (at the time, good) reasons 20 years ago. I think I am interested in returning to the “fine and pleasant misery”–but essentially I am once again a beginner; rivers, gear and methods have changed, my skills gone very rusty. Reading, watching videos, finding good seminars would be helpful, but what I really need is a knee-deep hands-on experience–preferably with enough success to inspire my uncertain interest.

Hi Jeff….We’re sorry but something has come up and our date to fish with you on May 30th isn’t going be able to happen. I need a little time to figure out when we can reschedule but as soon as I can I will get back to you! Is there any general target dates I should be aware of ? As the reports on the Clackamas have been weak, we probably would consider the Sandy as an option.

Great to chat today about volunteering. Forward this to Jeff and let him know I’ll be attending the new meeting on Jan 9th.
If you get a chance please check in with your chapter and see if you can get me an email list of everyone interested in volunteering down the line. That way I can just broadcast an email to everyone anytime we have a new event where they expressed interest.
Longer term it would be good if I can attend an upcoming event to connect with people and let them know about volunteering opportunities.

I’d like to thank you for a fun and successful trip. Your helpful approach was very beneficial in aiding my friend and I in becoming more experienced fisherman. Plus, you got both of us our first steelhead! Let me tell you, it’s been tough on my own, but I feel much better prepared after spending a day with your guidance and advice. I appreciate your willingness to help novice fisherman increase their skills. I’ll definitely contact you soon to book future trips. My son and I took our first float trip last Saturday with Jeff. What a perfect day! Weather was great, Jeff’s knowledge about the river and fishing in general runs deep. I asked a million questions and Jeff patiently answered them all. We fished a bunch of different techniques, had an awesome bbq lunch, and best of all my son caught his first Steelhead! And I got to catch one too. I will be on another trip with Jeff soon.

Although we didn’t put any fish in the boat the two we hooked were exciting.
